Whole Foods is latest to offer American Express/foursquare deal
Whole Foods, one of the earliest retailers to offer foursquare deals in their stores nationwide, launched a new promotion with foursquare and American Express over the weekend. Users who check in and spend $50 on their synced American Express card will receive a $10 statement credit.
The deal was announced to many foursquare users through the notifications panel. Unlike previous notifications, which require that you’ve either visited the place or added it to your to-do list, this was suggested based on whether your friends have been to your local Whole Foods. It’s the first I’ve seen of this mash up between the Explore data and notifications.
Like other AmEx deals, your card must be synced to activate the special. Once you’ve checked in, tap “Load to Card” on the special screen and you’ll be set. After your purchase is complete, you should get a notification from foursquare and a statement credit within 3-5 business days.
What do you think of the deal?
