The math for determining who should be the mayor of a venue is complicated and the Foursquare website offers little help in figuring it out. Their take is that winning a mayorship should be a happy surprise. When Will I Be Mayor takes the guesswork out of it by letting you know how many more checkins you need to become the mayor of your favorite venues. It has recently been upgraded to version 2.0 with a new look and new features.
When Will I Be Mayor connects to your Foursquare account to get a list of venues you’ve visited. It then does the math, comparing your checkins to those of the current mayor. You’ll see a sortable list of venues showing the current mayor and how many more check-ins you need to be the mayor.
Obviously these results change over time when you or the current mayor checks in. To keep you abreast of the latest developments in your heated mayorship battles, version 2.0 adds an option to “monitor” up to five venues at a time. You’ll receive an email each Sunday with an updated number of checkins you need to become mayor at those venues.

There’s already an update to When Will I Be Mayor: You can now search for venues — even if they’re not in your history — to see how many checkins it would take for you to become mayor.
