What’s today’s secret word? Foursquare!
Pee-wee Herman is coming to Broadway and bringing an awesome foursquare badge along for the ride. The badge recreates Pee-wee’s famous grey jacket and red bow tie.
The Pee-wee Herman Show will play at Broadway’s Stephen Sondheim Theater October 26 – January 2. Pee-wee will be reunited with the entire Playhouse gang — Miss Yvonne, Mailman Mike, Cowboy Curtis, Jambi the Genie, Pterri, Conky, and Chairry. It was developed by Paul Reubens in 1980, long before Pee-wee’s Big Adventure or Pee-wee’s Playhouse became hits. It was updated with modern references and a few new characters for a run earlier this year in LA.
It’s unclear how you’ll be able to unlock the badge, but it’s likely you’ll need to follow Pee-wee on foursquare. We’re hoping you’ll be able to get it by shouting a secret word, but it’s more likely you’ll need to actually attend a performance.
This video from Pee-wee’s site should whet your whistle for the show:

I love this, but I fear this is just another badge local to NYC…which a tiny minority of users will actually get, along with our friends in Indonesia!
Oh, please be connected to shouting the secret word of the day.
It’s great to see something wacky on foursquare. I hope it’s shout-based, rather than location-based, as they’ll alienate a great deal of users if it’s not.
PS: the Pee-Wee Herman link needs to be to a /user address.
Well that’s interesting. Earlier when Pee-wee, Tristan, et al tweeted the link it was a brand profile, including the badge image I grabbed. I guess they didn’t mean to release that yet and turned it back into a regular user profile, not even the celebrity profile it was before today.
I saw that too Chris… I definitely saw the full “business” page for it. Had a huge banner and everything. I clicked Follow on that – but ya, apparently changed to a User account.
