Refinery Media, producers of Singapore’s SuperModelMe, have announced a partnership with Foursquare. Refinery is Foursquare’s first Asian partnership deal.
Refinery will provide tips from the shows judges and contestants on venues throughout Singapore. They will also add tips highlighting the shows sponsors. These tips will pop up anytime a user who follows the show’s Foursquare page checks in at or near a venue with tips. The deal could expand to neighboring countries, as well.
The deal also adds two new badges sponsored by the show: “Superstyle” and “Superconnected.” Unlocking these badges will earn exclusive partner promotions on the spot and could help the user win a trip to the SuperModelMe finale. It’s unclear what these badges will look like or what will be required to unlock them.
Asia has been a growing market for Foursquare since launching Foursquare Everywhere in January. Two of the three post-SXSW Super Swarm badges were unlocked in Indonesia. Yahoo announced last week that they had purchased Koprol, an Indonesia-based Foursquare competitor.
