Stalk Jimmy Choo via Foursquare to win a pair of Jimmy Choos
High end shoe designer Jimmy Choo is launching their first social media campaign through Foursquare. A pair of their Jimmy Choo Trainers will be moving around London and checking in at exclusive venues. The locations will be broadcast through Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare. The first person to find the shoes at one of the locations and say “I’ve been following you!” to the rep with the shoes wins a pair of their choice.
This is a novel use of Foursquare to check in an object at a location instead of a person. As Foursquare becomes the new hot site, marketers will be flocking to it. It will be interesting to see the ways they use Foursquare and whether Foursquare will start exerting some control over those campaigns as Facebook has done.
