Sony Ericsson hypes foursquare in new Spanish ad
Smartphone manufacturer Sony Ericsson has posted a new ad aimed at the Latin American market that focuses solely on foursquare. In the ad, an older woman is agitated that someone stole her mayorship at Katinga’s, the bar where she plays cards. She talks about earning mayorships (and “giving orders”) and badges.
It’s a pretty funny ad that offers great exposure for foursquare in Latin America. She repeatedly shows off the Android version of the app, running on what appears to be one of Sony Ericsson’s new Xperia X8 phones.
Sony Ericsson also sponsors two branded profiles on foursquare. One is for their sponsorship of the WTA, the other for their partnership with Ischgl, a ski resort in the Austrian Alps.
What do you think of the ad?

Cool, but the name of the bar Katinga?
In Portuguese “catinga” with C means stinks…
Hahaha! I emailed this to my second year Spanish instructor to maybe show in class.
