Send your foursquare photos to Flickr automatically with FlickSquare
When foursquare introduced photos and comments last week, one of the things they said they were working on was the ability to send your photos to Flickr when you checked in. One enterprising developer has already beaten foursquare to the punch with FlickSquare.
By connecting your foursquare and Flickr accounts through FlickSquare, your photos will automatically be published to Flickr each time you post one with your checkin. You can review the photos that have been sent on the FlickSquare site, with a link to it on foursquare and on Flickr. You can also turn the linkage off if you don’t want your photos posted.
The description on Flickr includes the name of the venue and a link to the foursquare checkin, where your friends can see more information about the venue and comment directly through foursquare. We’ve reached out to the developer, Benny Wong, to see if he could also add Flickr’s foursquare machine tags, which create a direct link to the venue and show the venue’s name along with the rest of the photo info in the right column. He’s responded and said he’ll look into it. UPDATE (8:45 pm): The foursquare machine tags are now active. Now that’s what I call service!
If you just can’t wait for foursquare to add Flickr integration in the coming months, this app is definitely worth checking out. It’s simple to set up, easy to use and does exactly what it says it does.
What do you think of FlickSquare? Do you want all your foursquare checkin photos posted automatically to Flickr?

I do follow the required steps, first by signing me in with Foursquare, and when I try to connect with Flicksquare, it does not work. So, I cannot hook up with my Flickr account.
What’s wrong?
Actually, I used to send all my Brightkite photos to Flickr as a backup, which turned out to be a good move, since Brightkite doesn’t really exist anymore. Redundancy never hurts.
[...] While Foursquare gave lip service to working on the Flickr and Facebook export capability a couple of weeks ago, Wong has beat it to the punch. Along with being able to automatically publish photos to Flickr, Flicksquare also includes data like the name of venue checked-in to as well as a link to your Foursquare check-in on Flickr’s photo info. Wong even included Foursquare’s machine tags when About Foursquare made the request. [...]
