ScreenScape adds foursquare integration to their digital signage
Digital signage technology has really started to catch on over the past few years, but the existing solutions have been expensive or cumbersome to set up. A new startup, ScreenScape, aims to make it easier and less expensive to add dynamic digital signage for any size business. Today they’ve announced that their system supports foursquare, as well.
ScreenScape is a “software-as-a-service” provider who hosts the content and displays it using a screen and computer you provide. Venue owners can add a variety of modules to their ScreenScape display, including specials, news, weather, ads for other businesses and, now, data from the foursquare API.
The foursquare module is able to display the mayor of the venue, and even show a special welcome message when they check in. It can show any foursquare specials in place at the venue or just a simple reminder to check in. It can also show the number of foursquare users currently checked in.
“ScreenScape’s new foursquare widget provides a valuable tool to businesses that allows them to take customer interactions to a real-time, visual level right inside their venues,” said Tristan Walker, foursquare’s Director of Business Development. “The implications for this from a marketing perspective are vast.â€
Venue owners add and change content on their displays through a web interface, adding images and links much as they would on a social networking site. Similar or nearby businesses can share content amongst each other through ScreenScape to promote like-minded businesses to their customers.
ScreenScape starts at $9.99 per month, so it’s within reach of almost any business. Their foursquare integration is a great way to let visitors know your company is tech-savvy and involved with foursquare.
