Scheels celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a cool foursquare special
You don’t normally associate Breast Cancer Awareness with foursquare, but the Scheels sporting goods store in Sparks, NV (near Reno) is doing just that with an exciting foursquare special. The “largest sporting goods store in the world” is offering a free pink goodie bag from TYR to the first 500 foursquare users to check in and redeem their special at the customer service desk. Each bag includes a Mystery Card that could be worth up to $1000.
Most of the Mystery Cards are worth $5 or $10, but some some lucky customers will get gift cards worth $100 or $1000. The cards are good for footwear and apparel purchases throughout the store. An assortment of gifts that could include carabiners, t-shirts, luggage tags, bumper stickers, pens, lanyards or stress balls, has also been placed in each bag.
According to Scheels representatives, they’ll be closely monitoring the special through foursquare’s business dashboard. If things go well, they’ll consider adding specials at other stores across the chain, which includes 23 locations mostly in the Midwest.
This is a very nice special for foursquare users. The Mystery Cards add a nice element of surprise that should encourage customers to check in.
What do you think of the special?
