Redskins badge becomes first partner badge to “level up”
Foursquare users have been leveling up by way of expertise badges for the better part of a year now. Those are all “core” badges, created and released by foursquare. Today we’re getting a glimpse at the first partner badge that offers users the ability to level up, courtesy of the Washington Redskins.
Each time users who follow the Redskins check in to a home game at FexEx Field, they’ll achieve a new level of the badge (up to 10, apparently). The unlock text reads:
Hail to Victory! You’ll unlock Level 2 once you’ve hit up 2 Washington Redskin games at FedEx Field.
The levels make a fun way for fans to show just how dedicated they are to their favorite team. They could also potentially be used to offer a premium incentive to badge-holders who’ve attained at least a certain level. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more partner badges add levels in the coming months.
The Redskins were the first pro sports team to offer a badge way back in 2010.
What do you think of levels for partner badges?
