Show your Redskins pride with a new badge
Adding a Redskins badge to your foursquare profile might be a little like wearing a scarlet letter these days, but that’s not stopping the Redskins from rewarding their most loyal fans with a special badge.
There will be two ways to earn the Redskins badge:
- Check in at FedEx Field
- Check in at Redskins approved bars in the Washington area for three consecutive weeks
The Redskins join the Celtics and Lakers as the only professional sports teams with their own foursquare badges.
This appears to be a Redskins only initiative, for now. It’s a shame more NFL teams aren’t participating. I imagine many foursquare users would love to show their allegiance to their team with a badge like this.
UPDATE: The Redskins now have a branded foursquare profile that you must follow to unlock the badge. In addition, there is a contest tied to the badge:
Fans who unlock the Redskins Badge will also be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to meet the Geico Caveman at FedExField on Monday Night – November 15th to see the Redskins vs. Philadelphia.
