RadioShack tests the foursquare waters
While Best Buy tries out Shopkick, competitor RadioShack is trying to drive traffic with a location-based reward system that doesn’t require the installation of any expensive hardware. Starting today, foursquare users who check in at RadioShack will receive a 10% discount; mayors will unlock a 20% discount. The promotion runs through September 8.
RadioShack stores are ubiquitous in suburban malls and shopping centers, so this special is sure to pop up as “nearby” for plenty of foursquare users. Offering a discount — however small — just for checking in will likely drive some extra traffic to their stores.
Search for RadioShack (no space) to find stores offering the discount in your area.
