Official foursquare app for Windows Phone gets a minor update for Tango devices
There’s a new version of the official foursquare Windows Phone app available today. It includes “bug fixes” and, most notably, support for Windows Phone Tango, an updated version of the operating system that’s rolling out with the Nokia Lumia 610.
The update does not include any of the new features found in the foursquare 5.0 updates for iPhone and Android. An update has been promised for Blackberry in coming weeks, but no mention has been made of the Windows Phone app. The current version wasn’t developed in-house by foursquare, but instead by a third party working for Microsoft (the Nokia apps were built the same way, but Nokia is now tied to Windows Phone). The timing of a rebuilt release will likely depend on Microsoft and Nokia development schedules and funding priorities.
Reviews for the app suggest there might be issues with this version, so approach it with caution. 4th & Mayor makes a nice alternative if you run into trouble.
You can download the update from the Windows Phone Marketplace.
