New York Comic Con gets its own badge: Green Lantern

The New York Comic Con BadgeLike Comic Con San Diego, New York Comic Con will have its own foursquare badge. Warner Brothers and DC Comics have partnered to award foursquare users the New York Comic Con badge. The design mimics the look of the Green Lantern ring to celebrate Warner Brothers’ new show, Green Lantern: The Animated Series.

To earn the badge, you must check in at both New York Comic Con and the DC Comics booth (#2243). Users who show the foursquare badge at the DC Comics booth will receive a replica of the Green Lantern ring.

The unlock text for the badge reads:

In brightest day, In blackest night, Green Lantern’s badge is quite the sight. For those who recite this mighty plight, DC’s booth has swag delight!

The New York Comic Con badge isn’t the only one available this weekend. Graphic.ly is partnering with foursquare to offer the Graphic.ly badge for users who check in at their recommended comic book locations around New York. Users can show that badge at the Graphic.ly booth to receive free digital comic downloads and possibly other swag.

    I’m thinking I should either move to NYC to get all these location specific badges…or move to Indonesia.

    The Indonesia Comicon is going to Super Swarm when they have one of these for them. That’s for sure.

    But, again, it’s Warner Brothers and DC Comics that told Foursquare they wanted a badge for this.

    Looks like a cool badge and Green Lantern was a good choice over the more obvious heros…looking forward to the days when Foursquare gets enough critical mass in Denver for these kinds of things!

    I have only checked into the Comic Con and got it.. There is no need to check into both..
