MTV and SoBe partner for Spring Break badge

With the mild winter we’ve had in most of the US, it’s not hard to imagine the warmer days of Spring Break that lie just around the corner. MTV and SoBe have partnered to offer a foursquare badge that could send two lucky badge-holders to the MTVu Spring Break in Las Vegas.

Foursquare users can unlock the badge by following MTV and checking in at one of these two spots:

The unlock text reads:

Party on! This badge just entered you for a chance to win big benefits from SoBe – you could win a trip to party poolside with a friend at mtvU Spring Break in Las Vegas! Tune in April 2nd on MTV.

Two winners will be chosen to take a trip to Las Vegas, where MTV will be filming their Spring Break shows March 20–22.

        But, it’s definitely not the same type of Spring Break you normally see on TV.

        I don’t think it is but the same should be said about Groundhog Day and the badge was available worldwide.

        This is where I miss Michigan a little bit more… there are no 7-Elevens in Georgia, and it appears that SoBe is not coming to my area!

    Just tried it today at a 7-Eleven in Palm Springs, California and it did not work

    I checked in to the 7-eleven in Atlanta and did not receive the badge when I did the shout “SoBe Spring Break”

    I just got it to work at a 7-Eleven in North Hollywood. I think “SOBE SPRING BREAK” has to be in all caps like it is written on the MTV Foursquare page

      It does not have to be in all caps, but you do have to be following MTV. Worked fine for me in Holland, MI.

      I also unlocked it without using all caps.

      Are you sure you were checking into a “real ” 7-Eleven venue the first time? They’re a brand that ends up with a lot of bad dupes, because the “number, hyphen, word” combo confuses people. Sometimes, you end up with “7-11″ “seven-eleven” and “seven-11″ all on the same street.

    I got it today in Portugal. Just checked in at a beach (also tagged as a “surf spot”) and got it!

      Yeah, a friend of my unlocked it today at a surf spot venue in California. I guess they’ve loosened up the badge unlock conditions now that it’s actually time for people to go on Spring Break. (The badge unlock text has also been updated to no longer mention the contest.)
