‘Money’ app makes adding new payees easier with Foursquare integration
For a lot of social networks, Foursquare has become the default location database. It’s a little more rare to see if being used in products with no social component at all, but it’s equally well suited for those applications. The latest to take advantage of it is JumSoft’s “Money” app for Mac, iPhone and iPad.
With the latest editions of the money management app, you can easily add payees by searching the list of nearby places from Foursquare, reducing the time it takes to manually type in a new payee. The transactions you enter are automatically categorized based on the Foursquare category of the venue. Unfortunately there’s no option yet to connect your Foursquare account and select from the places you’ve actually checked in.
The Foursquare features come on top of Money’s abilities to help track your financial life, across multiple accounts and institutions. You can directly download your transaction data. Budgeting features allow you to set monthly targets and then compare your plan with actual expenses.
Money for Mac runs $38.99 in the App Store, while the iPhone app runs $1.99 and the iPad app comes in at $4.99.
Foursquare’s venue database is incredibly extensive, constantly updated and, best of all, free, so it’s no wonder companies are starting to turn to it for adding location information to other types of apps.
What other apps have you seen using Foursquare’s venue data?
