Unlock the Mazda Inner Driver badge for a chance to win a 2011 MAZDA2
Zoom, zoom, indeed! Mazda is offering a killer new promotion on foursquare. Unlock the Inner Drive badge and you’ll learn how to enter to win a 2011 MAZDA2. This badge comes with a catch, though: to earn Inner Driver, you first need to unlock two of their three other badges, unless you check in at a few special places that they’ll reveal during the contest.
You’ll be able to unlock the other other three badges by following Mazda and checking in at the relevant locations they’ve listed. They are:
- Button Masher: This badge will be unlockable at recommended video game stores and gaming competitions
- Style Guru: This will be available at recommended nightlife spots, boutiques and fashion events that fit the hip young crowd Mazda is targeting with the Mazda2
- Beat Junkie: This badge is aimed at music fans, with the recommended venues being mainly concerts and music spots. MAZDA2 Music Tour artist Mayer Hawthorne shows will count as venues for this badge.
Unfortunately, many foursquare users will be left out since Mazda’s recommended locations will be in just 15 cities: Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Washington, DC, and Portland.
There will also be a few locations that will be able to unlock the Inner Driver badge instantly. They’ll be revealed throughout the contest via Mazda’s Facebook, Twitter and foursquare accounts.
Each user who unlocks the Inner Driver badge will receive instructions to enter a contest to win a 2011 MAZDA2. It’s a subcompact car that Mazda says offers “killer style, great fuel economy and an affordable price tag.” The contest runs through December 7.
Other than the city restrictions, this is a pretty cool promotion on Mazda’s part. Requiring certain badges in order to unlock a third badge — and a contest entry — is unique and creative. It also means more badges that get pushed to Twitter and Facebook, spreading the Mazda message even further.
What do you think of the new promotion?
