Logo unlocks the A-List badge
Don’t let the name fool you. Logo’s newest show A-List may sound a little like the A-Team, but it’s exactly the opposite. To mark the premiere tonight, they’ve partnered with foursquare to award the A-List Badge. Users who follow Logo on foursquare and check in to two gay bars, restaurants or gyms will unlock the badge (see update below).
Anyone who earns the badge will be automatically entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win $1000.
A-List comes from the producers of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. It follows six members of New York’s gay elite, along with their families and girlfriends as they “navigate being fabulous in the city.”
In addition to offering the badge, Logo has left tips at many of the venues nominated for or awarded TripOut Gay Travel Awards. They’ve also left tips from some of the stars of their shows, including A-List and The Arrangement.
Logo is a network primarily targeted to the LGBT community. It’s a property of MTV Networks, who are no stranger to foursquare badges, having previously offered the VH1 Fanatic, Moonman and GYT badges. Past partnerships between MTV and foursquare have resulted in numerous on-air mentions for foursquare, so it’s likely there will be some form of promotion involved in the Logo deal as well.
What do you think of foursquare’s latest partnership with MTV Networks?
UPDATE: Logo’s foursquare profile originally said the badge could be unlocked by checking in to two gay bars, restaurants or gyms. A representative from Logo wrote to let me know that it was incorrect and was corrected around noon today. They added that the locations previously listed definitely will not unlock the badge. The profile page now reads:
if you follow LogoTV and check in at some of the top spots in town, you’ll receive your “A-List†badge
As usual, it’s unclear exactly how you unlock the badge.

two gay bars, restaurants or gyms in NY or the world?
You get the badge by doing the most stereotypical of “gay” things? Gees, could Logo be any more presumptuous of their community?
but at this link (m.logotv.com/foursquare_terms.rbml) talk about the badge saying:
“During the Sweepstakes Period, users who check into two (2) separate Foursquare Locations will unlock “The A-List†badge”
what is the “Sweepstakes Period”?
Now through December 6. Those official rules also say that the venues fall into these categories: (i) gay bars, (ii) wine bars, (iii) sushi restaurants, (iv) spas, (v) steakhouse restaurants, (vi) hotel bars, (vii) lounges, (viii) art galleries. I don’t know if ANY venue in those categories will unlock it or just certain ones.
Yes, I’m sure that, for example, 2 gay bars are ok to unlock the Badge.
I got it after checking in to 2 Sushi restaurants
Got it after checking in to 2 spas.
I unlocked the badge last night! I added a new Art Gallery venue in my town. I also shouted “Art!” at the same time as the check in.
