Latest Tweetdeck update shows off some great new Foursquare features
Tweetdeck has released version 0.34 of their desktop Twitter-and-more client. This update integrates with your Foursquare account in lots of interesting ways.
By adding your Foursquare account in the settings you get a new “Location” column. The location column shows the most recent checkins for all of your friends. You can also choose to have any Foursquare tweets filtered out of your main timeline and into your Location column. This is especially useful for people you follow, but may not be friends with on Foursquare. Clicking the “Map” icon at the bottom of the Location column will bring up a map with your friends’ checkins displayed.
Clicking venue links in the Location column will take you to a special venue profile page showing a map and other venue details within Tweetdeck. At the bottom is a list of everyone who’s currently checked in and an option to see the tips for the venue. You can even check in to the venue (with shout support) or add a tip directly from this screen. Clicking a Foursquare user will show you their profile, badges and friends within Tweetdeck.
This is a major update from Tweetdeck. In addition to Foursquare support, Tweetdeck now includes integration with Google Buzz, update scheduling, global filters and video uploads and webcam recording through Twitvid.
