Kona Grill to host national Swarm Party on August 18

Tuna Tower by Kona GrillMake plans to visit your local Kona Grill on August 18. From 7 to 9pm local time, each of their 24 restaurants will be hosting a foursquare Swarm Party.

They’ve created an exclusive new sushi roll especially for the event called the “Stinger Roll” to play off the bee design of the swarm badge. During the party, they’ll be unveiling their new foursquare mayor special by giving the current mayor a Stinger Roll. In the future, mayors will be entitled to a free sushi roll or appetizer.

Says Kona Grill CEO, Marc Buehler, “As a foursquare user and mayor, I’m excited to offer our guests a way to earn their Swarm Badge, try our new sushi roll, and maybe even run into the person they’re trying to oust as mayor.” Buehler continues, “We know our Kona Grill guests are savvy with social platforms and we’re embracing every opportunity to communicate with them.”

Kona Grill already gained some foursquare notoriety for their coasters that remind users to check in at each visit.

They currently have restaurants in 15 states: Arizona (Chandler, Gilbert, Phoenix, Scottsdale); Colorado (Denver); Connecticut (Stamford); Florida (West Palm Beach, Tampa); Illinois (Lincolnshire, Oak Brook); Indiana (Carmel); Louisiana (Baton Rouge); Michigan (Troy); Minnesota (Eden Prairie); Missouri (Kansas City); Nebraska (Omaha); New Jersey (Woodbridge); Nevada (Las Vegas); Texas (Austin, Dallas, Houston, Sugar Land, San Antonio); Virginia (Richmond).

This is actually a really good reason for me to go to Kona Grill. The service I had there last time I went was so awful.

Too bad the Baltimore location isn’t open yet! (It’s slated to open this fall.)
