Heading to CES? There’s a foursquare badge waiting for you
Each year the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the official tradeshow of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), takes over Las Vegas in early January. For attendees at this year’s show, which runs January 6–9, there will be an official CES badge for checking in at five of CES’s ten venues.
The first 2,000 attendees to show their CES badge (of the foursquare variety) at the Experience CEA booth in the lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center will get a “cool prize.” Additionally, two badge-holders will win a “House Full of Music” courtesy of the CEA, foursquare and Sonos.
CES is the electronics industry’s major show of the year. Hundreds of new products are trotted out, ranging from computers and TVs to home appliances. It occupies space at the LVCC, the Las Vegas Hilton and the Venetian.
I expect this is only one of a few badges that CES attendees will be able to unlock. Last year’s show featured four exclusive badges — three from Intel and the official show badge. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
Really wish I could be going. CES has been on my list for a long time. But then every year comes and goes without me heading to Vegas…. oh well. Someday.

Sweet! A buddy & I have been planning our trip to CES since this past summer. Glad to know there’ll be an official CES badge waiting for us. Hopefully more!
I breezed through the list of venues. Does it make sense that most of them already have at least 3 check-ins each, and CES is still over a week away? I guess even if they were temporarily closed until the 4th (when Press arrive & check-in), someone will still find a way to check-in to the venues.
The porn convention is always on the same dates as CES. Imagine the badges for attending THAT!
Heh….I was at the Adult Entertainment Expo last year (I got inducted while at CES), and the only badge I got was a media badge.
I’m looking fwd to getting the CES badge, but here is a story idea for your site: Over a week before CES 2011 and there are a few CES Venues (good planning by some brands) but ironic that a few venues like # 11398999 has 69 checkins from 40 people, and the person that is the mayor already checked in 7 times… 10 days before CES starts!
OK. Who’s the dirtbag that categorized some of the CES venues as “Strip Club”? Really classy.

i went to CES yesterday… checked in allll over the place… 1st tip… check in to Sonys booth… u get a $25 gift card to Sony Style!!!
2nd … i got 3 of the 4 check ins to get ur CES official badge… the kicker is … i work at the riviera… not too far from the venetian (which is one of the check ins you have to do to get the badge…) Everytime i check in to the CES venetian venue… keeps telling me im too far!!!!!!! im pissed!!!!!! I WAITED 3 HOURS TO SEE GAGA!! I walked alllllll the north, south, central, etc.. halls – I DESERVE THIS DAMN BADGE!!!!!!!!!!!! just sayin…
