Head to Olympic events for the London 2012 Join In badge

With the Opening Ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics just a few hours away, another Olympic badge has made its appearance. The London 2012 Join In badge honors foursquare users who check in at Olympic sites.

To unlock the badge, you’ll need to be following the Olympics on foursquare and check in to the sites where Olympic events are being held (maybe you can win tickets with the Olympic Ticket badge). The unlock text reads:

Welcome to the London 2012 Olympic Games! Enjoy watching the world’s best on the greatest sporting stage. Let’s inspire a generation.

This is the fourth badge with an Olympic tie-in this year. The others were the Olympic Torch Relay badge, the Olympic Day badge and the aforementioned Olympic Ticket badge, which was released yesterday.

    So the NFL, which is the most dragged out sporting event in the woooooooorrrrrrrlllllddd…….. Can get a swarm bage, but London 2012, a record setting event.. cant?

    According to the coverage Ive seen.. attendance is some of the lowest of any summer games.
    So not only should they be giving tickets out as fast as people are checking in… but MAYBE allowing the ‘swarm badge’ to be unlocked as well.. might get people out to some of the games..
    The stands out there look lonely..
