Guimarães, Portugal is next on the list of global city badges
The badge for one of the smallest cities to be awarded a foursquare city badge, Guimarães, Portugal, launched today. It’s home to just 150,000 people. One of the global badge contest winners, Cidade-berço is the 48th city badge.
Like all other city badges, you’ll need to check in to five spots on foursquare’s list of recommended places in the city to unlock the badge. The list was created by local user Carlos C.
The unlock text reads:
Meet up with the gang in the Praça de São Tiago for a drink (ok, maybe a few drinks) and feast on Rojões and Arroz de “Pica no chão.” Stuffed? Snag tickets to a show at Pavilhão Multiusos or stroll around the Parque da Cidade. Porreiro!
The design may not be the most colorful, but it’s certainly a beautiful design, depicting a warrior in front of a castle wall.
What do you think of the badge?
