Foursquare updates Blackberry app

With Blackberry World just around the corner (May 1–3), foursquare has released an update to their official Blackberry app. It offers four major improvements:

  • Foursquare notifications now appear directly in the Blackberry inbox
  • NFC support is now included for sharing check-ins and tips with other users (across both Blackberry and Android); NFC check-ins are also supported
  • Better GPS positioning
  • Faster performance

Foursquare says Blackberry users will be able to try out the NFC features — and win prizes from Blackberry — at the upcoming Blackberry World and Blackberry Jam conferences in Orlando.

    Upgraded and now the app won’t open. “Error starting FourSquare: Class ‘net.rim.device.api.ui.Scroll View’ not found.” I have tried pulling the battery, deleting and reinstalling the app, nothing. Any ideas?

    This is why I never update the app on my BB. Found an old alpha version that works so staying with that for the life of this phone.

    Previous version (3.8.1) is still available here: https://foursquare.com/mobile/download

    But, it has been said on Foursquare’s blog that a fix (3.9.1) will be released on AppWorld in few hours.
