Most foursquare badges are meant for the general foursquare population (to save our commenters the trouble, I’ll add in “or at least the ones in NYC”), but every once in a while they release a special badge that’s meant to celebrate a special occasion among their friends. Tonight, though, rather than releasing a badge to celebrate Chad Stoller’s 40th birthday, foursquare released their first “Chadge.”

It’s only foursquare’s second badge that was only made available to one person, making it a truly rare and special badge. The first single-edition badge, Last Degree, was to celebrate Parker Liautaud’s checkin at the North Pole.

The unlock text reads:

Happy Birthday to the guy wearing the ironic internet T-shirt and running shoes! We’ll pour out a little something for your 4-0.

Stoller is one of foursquare’s early angel investors and is credited with inventing the idea of creating competition through mayorships (hence the crown on his badge). Please join me in wishing him a very happy 40th birthday!
