Foursquare redesigns logged out home page
Perhaps the most important part of the new foursquare redesign is a page most of you will never see: the logged out homepage. It’s been redesigned as well, with a new focus on exactly what the app does and why those who are unfamiliar should give it a try.
Gone is the old “unlock your city” text. It was too nebulous to describe all the many things foursquare does these days. The scrolling list of badges and new tips is gone too. They never made much sense to non-users anyway.
The new page tells the foursquare story much better over a series of five quick, to-the-point screens. It starts with making “the real world easier to use” and covers keeping up with your friends, discovering what’s nearby with Explore, saving money with specials, and unlocking badges — which focuses more on the new expertise angle.
Foursquare’s new homepage should go a long way toward better explaining the app to non-users and convincing them to sign up for the service. After all, that is the goal, right?
What do you think of the new homepage?
