Foursquare first started showing business hours almost a year ago, but for one reason or another not every business has hours entered. Some are places that don’t have regular hours like parks or arenas, while others just haven’t been entered yet.
For those businesses, Foursquare is now showing “popular hours” within their iOS and Android apps. They show windows of time throughout the day when a place is popular and — for business that actually close — make it easy to figure out when a place is likely to be open.
Users can find the popular hours by tapping the arrow next to the venue name on the new Foursquare venue pages. The page is easily the most spartan ever included in a Foursquare app, but it gets the job done.
This is yet another example of the incredible amount of data Foursquare has at their disposal and the interesting ways it can be parsed to come up with something useful.
What do you think of the popular hours?
