Like it. But now some brands have a problem, because they can't add photos to check-ins via Instagram or using mobile devices for claimed venues same time they can do that to foreign venues (it's nonsense). I think a schedule way to fix the update on showing would be useful too, because some events is out-to-date and the update remains viewing.

Chris is exactly right: this'll only come from the businesses you frequent, have been to recently, and liked. It's a high bar.

And as you point out, Michi, you can always turn off *all updates* with one click. We want to feed that data back to merchants so they can make sure they're not over-communicating to their customers.

They have taken away a LOT of other analytics that I loved them for.
Now I cannot see the Twitter handles that checked-in - I cannot see the most popular check-ins. IMO the new reporting sucks. Maybe they'll start charging for the good stuff now. They are already charging $10 for expedited venue claims.

True. I hope brands will use it in a smart way. And they should too - if you mute it once, you most likely will never ever remember to turn it back on. So one bad posting could really cost a brand alot of reach.

I don't know. I think if you're a loyal customer of H&M, you might appreciate notifications about sales at your local store.

This could really evolve into a way for businesses to bring in some extra traffic when they're slow. If a restaurant isn't busy on a Tuesday night, they could set up a foursquare special for a steep discount, then alert their loyal, nearby customers that they're offering it. Previously they'd just have to hope they noticed it in the Explore tab.
