I haven’t edited the photos in a list since mid-July, so I wouldn’t have noticed.

The photos should show up among the venue photos just fine. I’m still using this tool to upload photos to venues. It’s not pretty, but it works (as long as you have access to a web server).

(That ability was removed from version 5.0 and has not been restored yet to the Android version.) I can create a list of venues that have pending photos and upload them there. I assume they’ll show up on the venue’s photo list for everyone.
