Foursquare lights up Times Square
Foursquare tonight is lighting up Times Square with an ad on the largest billboard in the Square. The billboard is located above American Eagle’s flagship store.
The ad is part of foursquare’s partnership with American Eagle, who offers users a 15% discount for checking in. Below foursquare’s “Check In, find your friends, unlock your city” branding is a reminder about the American Eagle discount.
Tristan Walker, foursquare’s head of business development, credits the billboard design to foursquare designer Mari Sheibley. He also thanks American Eagle for making the billboard a reality.
It’s hard to beat the kind of exposure a huge digital billboard in the middle of Times Square can bring. This ad dwarfs the Gowalla billboard that hung above Madison Square Garden.
What do you think of the ad?
