Foursquare for iPhone updated to v5.2.4 with revised check-in screen
Foursquare’s iPhone app was updated today to version 5.2.4. The update brings a revised check-in screen that moves the Facebook and Twitter toggles up to the top so they’re no longer covered by the keyboard.
Beginning with version 5, the toggles were placed at the bottom of the screen, where they were hidden as soon as users began typing a shout. The new update moves them to the side of the shout box where they’re more accessible. The photo option remains hidden by the keyboard.
The check-in button is now at the bottom of the screen when the keyboard isn’t in use, but moves to the top of the screen when it is. This happened in versions prior to 5, but creates a UI headache since the button can be in two completely different spots depending on context.
In addition to the toggles, foursquare has made “a bunch of design and under-the-hood improvements to keep foursquare fast and intuitive.”
The update is available for free in the iTunes app store.
What do you think of the update? Is it easier to use now?
