Foursquare for iPhone updated to 5.2 to fix “a lot of bugs”

Foursquare has released an update for their iPhone app, bringing it to version 5.2. As with the last version, the release notes simply say “we fixed a bunch of bugs.”

There’s now a link to the connected apps gallery that lets you add apps like Weather Channel and Foodspotting right from your phone. You’ll find it under “my settings” on your profile tab.

The only bug I’ve spotted that appears fixed is one that forced text to run outside of the box on the activity feed when a bunch of check-ins were combined together. Everything fits nicely inside the box now.

As we know now, version 5.1′s “we fixed a bunch of bugs” hid the true nature of the release: connected apps. It’s likely this version is also hiding something that will be released at a later date.

UPDATE (10:57 am): Natalia points out in the comments that venue screens have a new section that shows which of your friends have checked in at a place, and which ones have liked it. Tapping it takes you to a full list, along with how many times they’ve been there.

    I think it now also shows that you or your friends have visited / liked a venue (don’t think I saw it before this update)

    Did they fix the missing Newsfeed entries in Facebook?

    You can also now swipe between venue photos. Initially, you would tap on a photo to view it, then have to tap back to go back to the gallery and select another photo to view. Now you can just rapid fire swipe through all of them (like you could in the previous version). Ask me why I know. https://twitter.com/TheClayFox/statuses/215504404621705217

      That fix came in 5.1.

    Any chance they have fixed the facebook newsfeed problems?
    Before my checkins used to come up as a neat little bar graph on the right hand side with the venues most checked into and now all there is is a check ins total, the check ins apear in my news feed, but when I delete them from the feed it deletes them from FourSquare
