Foursquare has compiled an interesting infographic that delves into some of the hot-button issues of the 2012 election, comparing the red states (from the 2008 election) to the blue states based on check-in volume at relevant venues. The results are quite interesting.

Foursquare also sent along an interesting tidbit regarding strip-club check-ins (under the heading “Freedom of Expression”):

Red States

  1. North Dakota
  2. Nebraska
  3. South Carolina
  4. Arizona
  5. Alabama

Blue States

  1. Rhode Island
  2. Oregon
  3. Nevada
  4. Maine
  5. Wisconsin

    I hope they only compiled data from legitimate venues. I can’t tell you how many “gay bars”, “speakeasies”, “xxx club” and the like I’ve come across that are actually people’s houses or a gag venue. It makes for long superuser hours trying to clean up some of the more vulgar and inappropriate listings.
