Brand profiles on foursquare

Brands can offer tips to Foursquare users through their profile pagesA number of brands are offering tips to users on foursquare, but unless they’re one of the big brands featured at the bottom of foursquare’s site, their profiles can be difficult to find. To make it easier, we’ve compiled a list of all the brands you can “follow” on foursquare.

If you follow a brand, you’ll receive pop up tips each time you check in at or near a venue where the brand has left tips. Their most recent tips are listed on their profile page; from there, you can add their tips to your to-do list for future reference.

We’ll try to keep this list updated as we learn of more brands coming on board. If you know of any we’ve missed, please let us know in the comments.

    Hi all,
In clothing category, there should be actually 2 links for Havaianas as US (the one you put) is doing one, and as Havaianas Europe is running a very different concept via http://foursquare.com/user/havaianaseurope
You’ll be then able to discover places all over Europe and get free advantages on the online store!
    Cheers,
    Lucy.

This is only the brands that have official foursquare brand profiles that can be followed, not “friended.”

    Hey,

Great post! Do you know how a company can get a “brand” account instead of just a “user” account? Is this something you have to pay for? I work for a worldwide travel company and we are very interested in building our brand via foursquare.

    Thanks!
    Brittany

No, you’ll need to contact foursquare for that. My understanding is that some have been free while others have been paid.

I’ve tried contacting Foursquare about that and after a month, no answers.

I haven’t checked into venues in about a month that are brand sponsored (TLC, History Channel to name a few) from my Droid. Do venue tips pop up for the Android version of the foursquare app? I’ve never noticed them.

Howdy. Nice, helpful list. Under Other — or in a new Beverage category — you should add http://foursquare.com/user/redbull … fast approaching 2k Friends.

Thanks. I’ll be putting together a list of some of these “non-followable” profiles soon.

Hilton Grand Vacations Suites also has a page. They will be rolling out a check-in special soon too.

    Check out http://www.foursquare.com/StandardHotels!

The Standard hotels are anything but! Four Standard hotels in three cities, New York, Miami, and LA leaves a lot of room for eating, dancing, and playing – So while you’re checking in – virtually or for real – and exploring make sure to share some tips!

Heads up, Chris! I’ve finally convinced University of Southern California to start the process of claiming their venues. I’m working on helping them to get branded now. I made sure to forward them a link to your article regarding foursquare for colleges and universities. Any other tips?

      Thanks for the heads up!
