Foursquare brands are going places (literally)

Users aren’t the only ones checking in on foursquare; brands are checking in, too. They do it to let their followers know the cool things they’re up to and the places they’re visiting. Once that checkin scrolls off their followers home pages or they check in somewhere else, though, it’s essentially lost forever. And all those new photos and comments? Gone, as well.
With an update to the foursquare site today, brand profiles received a history section of their own, just like the one on user profiles. It shows up just below the description box on the right side of the page with the five most recent checkins. Users can now see the photos and comment on the checkins of their favorite brands even if they’ve fallen off the home page.
The history section disappears completely for brands with no recent checkins.
This update makes checkins much more useful for the brands who check in regularly and no doubt makes them more attractive to the brands who aren’t. What do you think of the change?
