Foursquare Badge List
Foursquare was one of the earliest pioneers in offering “badges” for gamification. Each time users check in, they have a chance at earning a badge. For pixels on a screen, they’re surprisingly motivational.
The foursquare badges are divided into two divisions:
Foursquare badges: These badges all carry a circular shape and are available to all foursquare users worldwide. They range from the Newbie badge every user gets for their first check-in to the city badges awarded for visiting specific cities to expertise badges that level up as you explore more places in a category.
Partner badges: These badges carry a shield shape that denotes they’re sponsored by one of foursquare’s partners. Some, like History Channel’s Historian badge are long-term badges, while others may be available for a short period of time, like the VisitPA Groundhog’s Day badge. This section of the badge list is still under development.
