DFW Airport now swarming with foursquare checkin specials
If you’re flying through the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport anytime soon, be sure to keep your foursquare app handy. The airport is now literally swarming with foursquare (and Facebook Places) checkin specials at nearly every shop, restaurant and coffee stand — more than 85 locations are included in the promotion.
“Customers who use smartphones and mobile apps are actively looking for information about their immediate environment, and this is a powerful way to easily share those specifics,” said Sharon McCloskey, vice president of Marketing for DFW Airport. “This program really raises the bar for delivering excellent customer service, in a trendsetting and innovative way.”
Here’s a sampling of the deals:
- Auntie Anne’s Pretzels: Buy three pretzels, get the fourth free
- Starbucks: $1 off any pastry when you purchase a beverage
- Au Bon Pain: 10% off your entire purchase
- Brookstone:Â Free Astrolight with any purchase
The airport is promoting mobile checkins with ads including banners, wall clings, flight information display monitors, lighted dioramas, window clings and a campaign video that will be broadcast on all airport television monitors.
If I have a choice on my next layover, I think I know where it’s going to be…
What do you think of the deals?

Dang! I JUST flew through DFW on Sunday, and they didn’t have all of this up yet. I had to settle for an overpriced Subway sandwich.
[...] Worth International Airport is the perfect way to get AirportIMC (not to mention Facebookville and Foursquare nation) fired [...]
I think I’m gonna have to up my game on keeping my local airport cleaned up.
That’s okay though, DFW Airport has been my pet project for a long time running since I live just down the road.
