Dennis Crowley appears in ads for Best Buy
Foursquare co-founder and CEO isn’t a stranger to national advertising spots, having modeled (along with Naveen Selvadurai) for Gap, but his new role in Best Buy ads is clearly his biggest exposure to date. He currently appears in at least two different spots.
The first is an ad (above) that’s been running alongside the Olympics. In it he talks a little about what foursquare is and how it couldn’t have happened without the recent innovations in mobile phones — which are happily sold by Best Buy, of course. It’s part of their series on mobile innovators.
The second (below) is a plug for a contest Best Buy is hosting looking for student innovators. The winners get a piece of a $100,000 in grants from Best Buy to develop their apps. As a map nerd, this spot is most notable for the giant, hand-made version of foursquare’s Explore map that appears behind Crowley.
