Chili’s Grill and Bar is now going to feel a lot more like your local Mexican restaurant — as long as you’re a foursquare user. They’re offering free chips and salsa for every foursquare checkin. The offer is currently rolling out to more than 800 Chili’s locations nationwide.
This is a great offer for both Chili’s and foursquare. The cost is low to Chili’s, but it’s worth the effort for a customer to check in. Once users check in they alert their friends on foursquare, and often Facebook and Twitter as well. That serves as great viral marketing for Chili’s. For foursquare it’s another high profile national brand offering a benefit that’s available to any user — even one using the app for the first time.
Search for Chili’s in your area to see if they’re participating in the special.

It doesn’t look it’s rolled to the locations near my area, but then it probably will take time for them to be claimed and then the special posted.

chips and salsa used to be free back in the day – but this makes it awesome anyways. They do have awesome chips!

It looks like they went in and added all their locations as Chili’s Bar & Grill, but their locations were already listed! So now all their added locations have 0 visitors and are duplicates. They will have to be merged by Super Users to make it right.

According to ClickZ, Chili’s 800 corporate-owned locations are participating in the special, but their 450 franchise restaurants are not. Bummer.
