Checkie gets more advanced check-in options
Checkie, the iOS app that makes check-ins quick and easy, got an important upgrade today. It takes away the “oh crap, I actually did have something to say about this check-in” problem that kept me from using Checkie for more check-ins previously.
You can now long press on a venue name to be taken to a screen where you can add a shout and change your Twitter or Facebook sharing options. You can also click the “view details” link to be taken to directly to the venue page in the foursquare app if you want more information or decide you want to add a photo alongside your check-in.
With the new version of Checkie, you’re no longer limited to just a simple check-in once you get into the app (although the regular tap works the same as it did before), which makes it much more flexible than previous versions. Foursquare’s new connected apps have made the app useful for simple check-ins again, but there are still lots of instances where a basic check-in is all I need and Checkie is perfect for that.
What do you think of the update?
