Check in June 1–10 at select retailers to help fight AIDS and unlock a special foursquare badge
Foursquare and (RED) have teamed up to help fight AIDS. When you check in at select retailers — including Starbucks and Bonefish Grill — $1 will be donated to the (RED) Rush to Zero campaign. You’ll also unlock a special (RED) Rush badge on foursquare.
To unlock the badge, you’ll need to be following (RED) on foursquare and check in at one of the following participating retailers, who’ll be donating to the cause:
- Starbucks stores in the US & Canada will donate $1 (up to their goal of $250,000)
- Bonefish Grill restaurants in the US; Penfold’s will donate $1
- Bugaboo (a stroller manufacturer) will donate $1 (or € 1/£1) when you check in at select retailers in the US, UK, Spain and Australia
The goal is to raise money and awareness for (RED), an organization devoted to ending AIDS worldwide. This is their second foursquare badge. The first celebrated World AIDS Day in 2010.
This is a great example of using foursquare for social good. Check-ins are a simple act, but in the hands of the right partners, they can be turned into much more.
What do you think of the campaign?
