I always seem to need style advice the most when I’m actually shopping for clothes. InStyle Magazine and Saks Fifth Avenue have come to the rescue and partnered to bring you style tips when you check in at select Saks stores.

The tips will be tied to four InStyle branded “hot spots” in each store: in the shoe section, the cosmetics department, the contemporary department and the WEAR section. Users who follow InStyle on foursquare and check in to each kiosk will receive style tips from InStyle editors.

Customers who check in at two or more hot spots can show their checkins at the General Manager’s office for a free gift. This month’s gift is lipstick in your choice of six shades.

The participating Saks Fifth Avenue Stores are:

• New York City foursquare
• Beverly Hills foursquare
• Atlanta foursquare
• Chicago foursquare
• Boston foursquare
• San Francisco foursquare
• Troy, MI foursquare
• Phoenix foursquare
• Short Hills, NJ foursquare

Hopefully foursquare’s logo will appear on each of the hot spots, offering yet another source of mainstream exposure. The promotion is an interesting one, since users will be forced to explore more of the store than they otherwise might in order to receive their gift.
