Check in at Murphy USA and you could win a Camaro or $20,000 cash
Murphy USA (you know, the gas station you find in front of your local Walmart) is running a cool campaign that offers one of the biggest prizes we’ve seen for foursquare checkins. The winner gets their choice of either a Camaro or $20,000 cash in the “Camaro or Dinero Giveaway.”
To be eligible, you first have to link your foursquare account on the contest page. After that, one foursquare checkin each day (through September 5) counts as an entry to the contest. You can also enter by text message, but where’s the fun in that?
The contest is sponsored by Murphy USA and Jacked Up energy drinks. It’s powered by Geotoko, a platform that lets businesses run location-based contests across a variety of services. It also includes an interesting analytics backend that allows businesses to monitor checkin statistics and more. Much of the same information is included in the foursquare analytics dashboard, but Geotoko allows chains to see checkins across all their stores, as opposed to foursquare’s single venue approach. It also incorporates checkin data from the other services.
