Bug: Chivas USA badge [no longer] unlocking with any check-in

A new badge set to roll out soon for Chivas USA appears to have a bit of a bug. It’s currently unlocking with every check-in, but doesn’t show an image or any unlock text. Just in the past few minutes, the badge has been unlocked by thousands of users, sending tweets and Facebook posts in the process.

Expect that it will be rescinded from your trophy case very soon, as these accidental unlocks typically are. It’s incredibly rare, however, to see a broken badge awarded on every single check-in.

We’ll let you know more details about the badge when it’s fixed and officially released.

UPDATE (1:17 pm): The stream of tweets has stopped, so it appears the badge is no longer unlocking.

UPDATE (1:34 pm): The badges have now been removed from everyones’ trophy cases.

We wanted to send you a quick apology for mistakenly awarding you the “Chivas USA” badge earlier today. We got over excited and released it to some users before it was ready for prime time! We’ve removed the badge from your trophy case. Again, sorry for the confusion.
