Become a Chipotle Groupie for a foursquare badge and a chance at free burritos for a year
Since I joined foursquare a little over two years ago, the one badge I’ve really, really wanted was a Chipotle badge. As my favorite place for lunch (103 check-ins!), it’s the one thing I’ve really wanted to show my love for on my foursquare profile.
Today that dream becomes a reality with the launch of the Chipotle Groupie badge. And to top it off, it comes with a chance to win free burritos for a year.
Foursquare users can unlock the badge by following Chipotle on foursquare and checking in three times at any one of their restaurants between now and May 31.
Anyone who unlocks the badge will be entered in a sweepstakes for a year of free burritos (one per week). Ten runners up will get a burrito party for ten of their closest friends. Each check-in above the three required to earn the badge counts as an additional entry to the sweepstakes (read the rules for full details).
Foursquare co-founder Dennis Crowley led a charge to encourage Chipotle to offer a foursquare deal in November 2010. Hundreds of users tweeted Chipotle to ask for a special. The move attracted the company’s attention, but a deal was never offered.
What do you think of the badge? I know where I’m going for lunch today.
