Audi partners with foursquare for a new badge for skiiers
It’s hard to say that foursquare has too many badges for any given thing, but skiing might the the one category that’s overrepresented. They already have the Ski Bum expertise badge, the ski resort series, and last year’s Xperia Ischgl badge. Now there’s a new badge from Audi for skiiers, Audi Winter Ride.
Foursquare users can unlock the badge by following Audi and checking in at any ski area. By doing so, they’ll earn a 20% discount at audi-collection.com.
Audi is the official vehicle of the US Ski Team, so they’ve created a list featuring tips from US Skiing stars Lindsey Vonn, Chelsea Marshall and Andrew Weibrecht. The tips all highlight some of the country’s top skiing areas, like this one from Vonn at Beaver Creek Resort:
“Want to ski a world cup run? Beaver Creek’s Birds of Prey is where it’s at: fast, hard, fun”
The new badge is a nice way for Audi to highlight their connection to the US Ski Team and offers a good discount if you’re interested in Audi gear — and it represents one more notch in the belt for foursquare-using skiers.
What do you think of the new badge?

Not sure what politics and future politicians have to do with the Audi Winter Ride badge… but… OK.
Im super excited about this badge… Im going on a New England resort tour at the end of the month.. I knew I would end up with the Mt. Snow badge, but this is a treat! I like the winter sport badges 4sq has continually provided… I hope the trend continues.. I hope Killington Mtn jumps on board as well.. Id much rather have a badge then a crappy t-shirt I usually end up donating to Goodwill a couple of years after I buy it…
I want as many badges for beachcombers.
