    Re: The McDonald’s promotion, I think it makes sense to start with a single region as a trial. I can testify that the 7-Eleven promotion doesn’t always work, about 1/3 of the time the 7-Eleven site doesn’t think I have checked in and 100% of the time the 7-Eleven site is a bloated pig that takes forever to load even on a fast HSPA+ connection. I also remember last year the Vons promotion almost never worked. I think these API connection deals are tricky, maybe if McDonald’s is successful with their regional program they can roll it out to be nationwide (or worldwide).

    Re: The MoD ads, what I don’t like about that is that the ad perpetuates the misconception that if you check-in on foursquare that anyone and everyone can see your checkin and know exactly where you are. As any 4SQ user knows only people who are on your “friend” list can see your recent checkins.
